FREE: Victrola 8-30

I am offering up my 8-30 as a project for FREE, hoping that someone would restore it. I have most of the parts along with the machine.

Here's the good:
Cabinet is solid
Most parts included

Here's the bad:
No reproducer
Needs back bracket
Broken Spring

I know this isn't the greatest pile of bits to ever grace this forum, but I thought I'd try. I would be happy if this went to someone who was enthusiastic about it, and I'd be willing to assist installing a new spring and sourcing parts to complete it.

Maybe you want a machine for your garage, or maybe you want a credenza on a budget. Maybe you enjoy serious projects. All I know is that I'd rather see this in the hands of a collector than make money from the parts. I just don't have the energy or passion for this project.

Located in Germantown, MD: a suburb of Washington DC.

Looks magnific! Hope someone will chim in to take it. I've just read a post about other machines and one of them told he wanted a Credenza... I'll see if I can find it...

I have wayyyy to many projects of my own to even think of another. I'm sure this will find a good home!

I would absolutely take it if Vermont wasn't so far away. Always up for a challenge but not really up for an 11 hour drive... one way ;)

Sure hope it goes to a great home...

I'm pleased to provide a happy ending to this story - a collector came by and grabbed this machine today with full intention to restore to it's former glory.

Happy Easter everyone!
