Group,
Many years ago (more than 30) my father picked out a Home Model D Combination in excellent shape. The phonograph went to my Brother for awhile and now he gave it to me. Since my Wife and I now live in the same house (Cape Cod) that my parents did, the phonograph was now returned "Home" (not very puny). The picture shows it on a workbench in my music studio.

I don't know if you are thinking about repainting your horn, but don't... If you want it to look better, touch up the scratches with a black Sharpie marker, then spray the horn with WD40 inside and out, then wipe off the excess with a clean cloth. This isn't a joke, it really works.

That home is in good shape. The stripes look great. Tom

Curt A,
Thanks for the tip. Does the WD-40 re-do the paint that has oxidized ?
Tom, yes, the stripes are nice looking with the Gold and Blue.

Yes, WD40 reinvigorates oxidized or dried out paint, I have used this many times especially on black japanned horns with excellent results. It does nothing to hurt or remove paint...

Group,
Is there a pdf of the Edison manual for the Model D Combination available ? I would like to set up the load on the spindle and where to lubricate.
