I don't know much about them but I assume that this may be one of those very sought after models which were made in India ?

This is indeed a "Tropical Teak" 101, but the fact that it has been refinished will put some bidders off.
I gave mine, which I have since sold, a sympathetic clean whilst retaining the original finish. That is what most buyers want.

Very interesting.
Thanks as always epigramophone.

Yes, a "Colonial model" and extremely desirable. Notwithstanding what Roger has said the one on Ebay does have very attractive graining pattern. I like it!
It is a pity that the varnish has been removed though.
Roger, I hope you got over £500 for yours. It looks to be perfect.

It certainly looks nice, despite the removal of the original finish. I bought mine years ago from Howard Hope, when he had an internet gramophone dealership. It was, and still is, in great shape.

I am surprised it didn't sell.
Seemed a reasonable price to me if I wanted one. There can't be that many around I guess.
I mean, roll it around in the garden with a rake for a few hours to give it back some patina ..................

Hold on a minute ................
So it was re-listed at a 'buy now price' of £ 450 .................................... plus ...................
£200 postage ?????????????????????????
and someone bought it fast.
What am I missing here ?

You may be missing that it possibly sold to someone in the UK, who paid far less than 200 GBP postage that it would have cost you to ship it to the USA. (I am assuming here that you're in the USA)

Actually, no, that's not the case. I'm in the UK also and in my Ebay account it came up as a re-listed item with £200 postage for some odd reason. Very fishy.
