Good monrning and thanks for the "add" here as a newbie! I recently aquired what appears to be a very original and unmolested Triumph Model A (photos attached). I have seen prior posts on here wherein member "George P" has graciously offered insight into shipping dates based off original factory records. I would love to be able to more accurately date mine, which is serial number 41867. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Hello Ryan,
Dating Edison Triumphs is tricky because the same serial block was used for every machine that used the Triumph upper works, including the Triumph, Class M, Class E, Acme/Eclipse, Ideal/Idelia, and Alva. I've spent many hours trying to break out Triumph serial numbers using original monthly sales data and subtracting the monthly data for each of the other models, but with no reliable results. Consequently, I'm comfortable only in giving a quarter & year for Triumphs at this time.
Triumph #41867 in all likelihood left the factory during the second quarter of 1905.
I hope this is helpful.

Hi George! Interesting - even having the quarter and year is definitely helpful. Thank you so much for the quick reply and info!
Best,
Ryan

You're very welcome, Ryan.
The Gem, Standard, Home, and Concert can be dated to the month up to May 1908, but not the Triumph nor its derivatives. Maybe someday...

Any info on mine (#31900)? It has the sharp corners on the case.

Bill, your Triumph #31900 looks to have left the factory during the 2nd quarter of 1902.
