Hello,

Sorry if the pictures aren’t amazing, they were the ones in the ad. Just hoping you all could shed some light on this machine. It’s listed for sale where I live and I’ve just not seen a machine like it. It’s got a crank on the left side of the machine? I’ve only ever seen them on the right? Anyone have any ideas? Any info would be much appreciated.

I am no expert, but in spite of the fuzzy images, that does not look like any Edison I have ever seen either. I wonder about the left side crank like you said, but also the brass/gold tone pulley and mandrel , the paper or decal name plate, half-nut assembly looks to be one solid piece, etc., etc.

It looks like a modern knock-off/replica and I wonder why the seller didn't even bother wiping off the name plate?

But given the fuzzy pictures, I could be way off!

I found what it is! Apparently it’s a replica radio/cassette player. Never seen one before!

It was made by Thomas back in the 1970s. They also made radio/cassette players that looked like a cathedral radio.

I heard the horns on these Thomas machines can be used with real machines?
