Same song on both sides

I recently picked up good sized collection-2500 and in going through them I found a Deca #24900 Dream a Little Longer by Ella Fitzgerald with the same label on both sides of the record. At first I thought that someone just had a bad day at the record farm but in playing the record it is the same on both sides. I will admit I am not much of record collector so this might be common-though I am getting there-what gives?

I found two sources that state this as what it should be...
Decca Records 78: 24900 - I Hadn't Anyone Till You / Dream A Little Longer (1949)
I Hadn't Anyone Till You - 03:02 (Ray Noble)
Dream A Little Longer - 02:59 (Donald Kahn)
Sounds like a collector item!
James.

These records that have the same selection on both sides were probably made for jukebox use. RCA made a number of these that they identified as jukebox specials. The selection was a hit and was expected to get a lot of play on jukes. Probably especially important in the pre-WWII days when there were no jukes that played both sides of the records. The juke operator could load one of these 2-sided specials and reduce his record costs. When the side wore out, the operator could just flip the record over and get more plays on the hit without having to use another record.

Interesting... the person that I bought these records from father ran a large record shop in New York so that might really be the answer. They not only sold records retail but wholesale as well. A number of titles have more than 1 copy so that is probably the answer.

Actually, I have a Victor record (25320) with "Star Dust" performed by Tommy Dorsey on one side, and by Benny Goodman on the flip. I know this isn't exactly what was being asked, but...
