Very hard to find, this is an accessory brake for the Edison Standard. It only works on Edison Standards with an end gate.
Shown installed on a machine (only the brake is included in this sale) as well as alone, this is one ingenious brake. As the carriage traverses, it comes into contact with the adjustible stop, pushing the brake pad into the end of the mandrel. When the carriage is moved by hand, a spring on the brake resets it.
Very, cool accessory.
