Three come to mind right away, although I’m sure there are others. Marcella Sembrich and Emma Eames recorded it for Victor, released as 95202 in 1908. Lilli Lehmann and Hedwig Helbig recorded it as well and there is the complete 1934 Nozze di Figaro from Glyndebourne with Aulikki Rautawaara and Audrey Mildmay, conducted by Fritz Busch.

The Eames and Sembrich recording was issued by HMV under it's alternative title "Che Soave Zeffiretto" as 2-054100. It was recorded on 25th January 1908.
I have the No.2 Catalogue issue DK121, coupled with "La Dove Prende Amor Ricetto" from The Magic Flute, recorded by Eames and Emilio de Gogorza on 9th March 1906. Remind me to bring it next time we meet.

Roger.

For some time I was chasing vocal feminine duets on shellac...

Thank you very much gentlemen---greatly appreciated. I have managed to acquire a copy of the Sembrich/Eames recording. I gather the Lehmann/Helbig record is very rare.

I should love to hear both sides of your disc Roger when we next meet which I hope will be in the not too distant future.

Best wishes, Graham.

It was also included in the series of Figaro excerpts released anonymously on the World's Greatest Operas label. Later, clever folk figured out the artists were Vivian Della Chiesa and Annamary Dickey with William Steinberg conducting the orchestra. Issued as World's Greatest Operas record SR-82-B, rec. 6/5/1940.

Apparently there are more, though I haven't heard these: a 1906 recording by E Clasenti & T Ferraris; one from 1922 by Heckmann-Bettendorf and Mizzi Finck; another in 1939 by Margarete Teschemacher and Irma Beilke. Happy hunting!
