Almost finished with re-assembly and thought I would post some pics of the 1917 Walnut XVI I am finishing up, really looks amazing. I love the walnut machines, much more interesting look than the Mahogany. The original finish was sun faded and had turned a shade of orange, the dye and finish really did wonders on this one. last picture is with a flash.

So I right in thinking you stripped and refinished this completely, or you used dye and a new coat over the original finish?

I think that highly figured American walnut is just as beautiful and sometimes superior to circassian walnut. The work you are doing is excellent and well worth the effort.

Fantastic restoration--you've breathed new life into this stunning machine! That's the most Circassian-looking American walnut machine I've ever seen (especially the sides).
