Like a lot of the stuff from this seller its not in the best of condition but still cheap at the current start price, as you say.

It's been in my watch for a few days now. I'd have thought the price might have moved by now.

Seller says " ... this is a very heavy gramophone ..."

That's true. I bought a very beat-up HMV 113 about 15 years ago. I wonder what the final selling price will be.

Out of fairness; which of the high volume UK dealers only sells stuff that's all perfect mechanically and cosmetically? At least this one does dust them...

You have a point, Ahmed. In my experience with UK dealers, the only times I bought machines in excellent shape were when they reached the hands of the dealer already in that shape. Their priority is to increase the turnover and minimize expenses (and that includes buying a flannel to clean the machines). The first-rate service I experienced from professional dealers was with people like Raphael Coles in the US, Guido Severiinjs in Holland and Jalal Aro in France.

I don't think this seller is a "high volume dealer" anymore than we are because we collect? And for the record I never claimed anyone should only "sell stuff that's all perfect mechanically and cosmetically". We were talking about this specific item and I simply noted that this seller rarely has anything which is perfect, if ever.

Well, that one really busted out of the gate, didn't it?

I suppose that's what happens when prospective buyers see a string of tat, poor quality photos and no offer of shipping available?

All he needed was the infamous blue chair to complete the setup.
