Cylinder Records AKA: Plastic Tubes

Last week I placed a large order with Vulcan records for some of their cylinder records. Let me just say that I already own quite a few of their records and cannot say enough good things about the quality of their work. I usually use their records for demonstration on the many cylinder machines, especially the coin-ops.

Today I received a shipping/ tracking notice of a shipment being sent from England. Having purchased a number of things recently I was trying to figure out what this could be. When I pulled up the shipping notice to see what I had ordered, the description was various sized plastic tubes. It took several minutes to make the connection that these plastic tubes were my cylinder order from Vulcan. It struck me as a genius way to describe them to help them sail through customs. I can’t wait to get my new plastic tubes.

I sent a disassembled Q to a UK member and described it as "used metal parts" for the same reason.

It gets them through without you paying a duty tax. I used to purchase 50 cylinders at a time and was once charged over 100.00 at time of delivery
