Hello everyone. I'm in the process of restoring a Columbia Type BK cylinder machine. Bed plate paint is in awful shape, scratched up really bad and chips all over. My question involves the best paint to use in redoing bed plates. Is there any way I can mimic the japanning? Thanks.

Black lacquer has a similar appearance.
