What might that fate be?

An empty humpback Victrola cabinet isn't something I'd want, even for free.

Might as well be a liquor cabinet or whatever. :D

It's a VV-330, wolfe, not just any humpback, and the fate would be cat scratches and cat piss. I sometimes forget that my interest in phonographs is to preserve them for subsequent generations.

Point taken. ;)

The biggest knock against this project is the fact that the motor board area has been cut away. If that had not been done, it would be a much easier project.

I live about an hour away from this cabinet. I believe it's a worthy project so I'll offer to pick it up and deliver it to Union for free. That's my contribution to saving this Victrola. Any takers?

Nice as it may be (and somewhat rare) it's still not worth the asking price. I bought a complete one locally here a few years back for $50...unfortunatly it had been stored in a barn and some critters had chewed every corner of the cabinet.

On the plus side it's the only humpback cabinet that is worth looking at twice.

On the minus side it's had a major gut job.

This is a good candidate for refitting with a CD player and stereo speakers- and I suspect that is why it was gutted.

They could get some money for the hardware on eBay. Then put the hulk out as a freebie.

Some must die so others may live.
