Edison Home Serial Number Question

Hi,
Would an Edison Home with a serial number of 262324 be a model B machine ?

Yes, a Model B which left the factory in May 1907.

I am looking to buy an Edison Hom we Model D but I am not experienced enough to know one by sight. Does anyone know the range of serial numbers that include the Home model D?

All model C and later machines have the model letter on the ID plate. In some cases, the letter appears after the serial number. In others, it appears in an area of the ID plate specific to that purpose.

Here is what a later home plate looks like with the letter IDing the model. It is dusty but was close to me. Tom

Where did you end up finding that Model C ID plate for that HOME, or did you find a whole machine?

Mike I purchased a whole complete home C top plate. I got it on E bay for about $ 600.00 and I put a cygnet horn on it. I used one of my home Bs cases to complete. It sits in my bedroom as one of my prized Edisons. Tom
