Here is a mint Pathé Coquet cylinder phonograph. The finish is original and gorgeous, as well as is the bedplate and striping and nickel plating.
The phonograph plays loud and clear and steady. The spun aluminum horn is original and in very nice condition. The reproducer may be a reproduction or just rebuilt but I'm not sure.
Please look at the photos. If you want a small phonograph that looks and plays great this is the one.
Price is $650 + shipping or be picked up for free in Wisconsin or nearby.
Thank you for looking.

Will it play the salon sized cylinders if outfitted with the appropriate mandrel sleeve? Also, any chance we could have a photo of the motor, and how strong is it? Since the video cuts out mid-cylinder, how many full cylinders can it play at speed on a winding? Thanks!

Great questions. I tested it with a salon mandrel.
It fits but the configuration won't work. Pathé made this model in several configurations, including one sold through the French firm Girard that used the Systeme Verite attachment which allowed easy switching between the two formats.
This phonograph is quite small and will play one cylinder per winding. It uses a winding key vs a crank. The motor is a single spring. Please see added pics.

Well, bummer; I'd like to add an option for playing salon cylinders without spending a fortune, and that's a lovely little phono. Thanks for clarifying, and good luck with the sale.

Is it possible to move the reproducer/horn sleeve to allow salon cylinders to be played with the larger mandrel fitted?

Unfortunately not as there is a piece of curved metal that gets in the way. This is part of the fine reproducer adjustment. This is visible in the first photo.

Good morning phonohound and drh.
I have retrieved my machine and fitted a salon mandrel and cylinder(cylinders shrink so do not always fit correctly on mandrel) and adjusted the reproducer sleeve and screw to make sure the stylus hits the cylinder at right angles..I cannot play as my reproducer is stripped for rebuild.Atta he'd some photos of set up.
Kind regards Brian

Brian,
Thank you for showing us that it can be done. I did not adjust the sleeve, but apparently you can to be able to play the Salon cylinders. It is awesome that this machine is that versatile.
