I've had this 6" Lindex record for about 25 years and am trying to find out more about it. I've been collection 78s sine 1973 but have never seen another example of this label. I have found very little information online. Does anyone here know anything about this German label? Thanks.

Mike, those records were pressed by Lindstrom/ Parlophon in the early mid 1920s and were intended for use on a small "Koffergrammophon", (English "suitcase"), also called a Lindex. It was probably a German version of the little "Emerson" and "Little Wonder". They are quite scarce, so likely didn't sell well.

Very nice find!

Thanks, Georg, for the information!

I must have picked it up when I was working in the German-American neighborhood of Ridgewood, Queens in the '90s. Both sides are dance music: one side is in ¾ and the other in 4/4.

Here's a little bit of info- in German, but you can look at the machine these were made for. In the second post, there's a link - "Hier Klicken"- that will show you the records.

There's another "Lindex" machine that's later that appears to be a sort of Columbia Viva Tonal UK portable clone.

Thanks again, Georg, fascinating! I should have thought of going to a German site.
