I hope one of us was the lucky buyer of this nice Amberola 1-B that was on CL asking 1800.00 full of records. I see a little grill loss but, it looks like a great deal.

is it just me or does it not seem like there have been more than the usual number of Amberola's 1 & Operas popping up recently, even a School Machine recently posted here. :monkey:

What I find unreal is my friend in Washington gets this same machine for FREE!!! a few months ago. Now this one pops up so nice....I guess there are many still out in the wild. Had this been closer,I would have had it. however, too far for me and not really my format.Still, at that price...........

out of curiosity, did this actually end up with anyone here? or is it just going to turn up for sale, three times the price, at union or somewhere similar?

Since I posted this thread, all I can add is that it sold within hours of being posted. I'm sure the buyer got it a little lower then the 1800.00 asking price. However,I'm not aware of a Oregon collector getting it. It may have gone to a antique dealer??.The lady that was selling it was nice enough to reply back that it was sold.
I hope it went to a collector around there.

There was another good deal in Portland. It was a VV-130 in American walnut for $200. I've checked with a couple of my phono nerd friends in Portland but nobody claimed to make the purchase. Shucks!

Jerry, would you be able to bring that 130 up to me???.It would sure save me a lot of hassle. Maybe, you could use one of the four Victrola packing crates that a lady in Portland is selling. Then I could pretend it was new old stock and I will have a "Victrola for Christmas" after all!!!...  .
