COLUMBIA BD - motor board screw question

Hello All
Thanks to the response I received regarding wanting to add a Columbia BD and/or BY to my collection, the amazing Brice Paris sold me a beautiful BD which just arrived today. He carefully packed everything in three containers and Fed Ex'd it to me. It arrived safely and now I'm having a bit of a problem.

For anyone who has a BD in their collection, might you be able to tell me if the three mounting screws (bolts and nuts) are meant to allow play or if the motor should be flush against the board. The smooth-headed bolts seem to have corresponding nuts that only allow the fit to only a few turns and no further. It seems the nut is tapered internally for just that reason. It will only fit one way - using the slightly larger opening on one end. But if that's so, then there is play between the motor and the board and the motor would essentially hang a good quarter of an inch or so rather than snugly fit up against the board if this is the design. I can't imagine that to be so. Are there supposed to be washers in place to take up some of the slack?

If anyone could shed some light on the subject I would be most grateful.

Thanks!
Bill

Can't speak specifically to a BD, but the motor should not hang loose in the cabinet. There would commonly be felt or perhaps rubber washers between the motor and the cabinet. If the nuts will not thread fully onto the bolts, then something is amiss with the nuts. I would ask the amazing Brice how it was assembled before he broke it down for shipment. :)

Thanks Jerry. I did send an email off to Brice but thought I wouldn't pester him if I could glean some info from fellow Forumites! :)
