Here is a very rare Aretino front mount that incorporates the mechanical feed turntable. The reproducer is in a fixed position with the horn, and the turntable moves under the reproducer. I will Quote from the Fabrizio & Paul book THE TALKING MACHINE An Illustrated COMPENDIUM on page 138 towards the bottom It reads " In this " Aretino" of 1909 Hawthorne and Sheble finally achieved in design what had been attempted by subterfuge until then: true mechanical feed. The turntable tracks under the fixed soundbox. Here is your chance to own a rare machine at a minimal cost. This machine has the original reproducer as shown. Also, this machine takes a different support arm than the traditional Aretino front mount. Everything looks to be original except the decal which is a Gregg Cline reproduction. I can deliver this to the upcoming Donley auction for free. There will be buyers there traveling all directions if you are interested. I will be out of the country from Dec 2 - Dec7

I bet people would enjoy a photo with the turntable removed so they could see how the turntable travels. (I know I would!

If your Aretino machine is still for sale I would like to purchase it. I don’t use this section very often so I’m not familiar exactly with the protocols. But please call me directly at 585 244 5546. Tim

Thanks for posting the photos. In fifty years collecting I don't recall seeing that version of a front mount Aretino. I may have walked by one at Union but it would be easy to miss as it looks the same as an ordinary Aretino front mount. A machine like this adds interest to a collection. Congratulations to the new buyer!
