I’m looking for someone to professionally refin the metal portion of my Edison Opera horn. The wooden part looks great, but the curved metal attachment is original and has nearly no paint. I’m told originally that it was a faux wood grain, does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!

Base coat of paint of lighter red. Glaze darker red with some black in it. Lint-free cheesecloth. YouTube video on graining. Pretty simple actually.

You might check local car clubs. Many trim pieces on autos from the 30s and 40s have wood grained pieces.

That's a different process for car parts.
