The Hearbreak of Cracked Records?

Another noob question.
What to do about cracked discs?
I put a lovely Beniamano Gigli recording on the platter of my A-V, and while I was installing a soft needle, there was a crack noise. The record spontaneously cracked - perhaps because of a change in temperature? Who knows?
I have a small number of irreplaceable cracked discs squirrelled away as some future project.
Turning to Youtube for repair options, I find as many different options as there are opinions about needles and polishes/lubricants.
Does anyone have any tips they would care to offer?
Thanks.

I don't understand... We talking about repairing broken 78s, but the video links to Don Wilson reproduced records....???

I didn't understand either at first, but after thinking about it for a bit, I suspect that the poster was suggesting that if you have a rare to the point of being irreplaceable repaired disk, you might wish to have a copy made of it for posterity. Maybe I still don't understand -- the links were cool anyway.

What's not to understand, if a record has a break in it, it may well be on it's way out even if it's repaired.
If one is lucky enough to repair it, making a copy of it may be a good idea to preserve the recording.
The other alternative is to try and find another original copy _ no easy task.

Well, I tried Curt A’s crack repair method using Weldbond, and not only did it work on cracked records, I also managed to put back together records that had pieces broken completely off.
