Reproducer Compatibility

I am attempting to restore a Victrola VV4-7 and can't find an original orthophonic reproducer. Are there other brands or newly-made replacements that can be substituted? How can I determine which are compatible? I'm restoring this for my sister, and she's more concerned about having it work than about authenticity. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
P.S. I'm having the same issue with finding a bracket for the tonearm.

I had to replace the back bracket and reproducer on my Victrola 8-12, and I ended up getting a reproduction bracket and reproducer from an orthophonic Victor portable which saved a lot of money. I'm very happy with the result. The orthophonic records in my collection play so loud I ended up using bamboo fibre needles which I swear by. If you have the original reproducer, consider getting it rebuilt. Make your request on the trader section and good luck with your search.

The Orthophonic Victrolas are part of a precisely designed system. While it’s physically possible to slap any old reproducer on one, that misses the point of the system. Look on eBay, contact Wyatt Markus or Walt Sommers, advertise in the Yankee Trader. Also, reproduction back brackets are available. Not sure who is currently selling them. George Vollema?

You could use a No. 2 reproducer with an Orthophonic flange, but the sound will not be nearly as good. Read this post for more info:
