Wanted, Main Spring Barrel Drive Gear

The spring shaft is badly worn causing excessive wear on the barrel drive gear.
I can save the shaft and make bushings, but I can't save the drive gear, so I need another one.
Once I make some new bushings, it will fall into the correct alignment and work for a while, but it still should be replaced.

The motor is out of a Victor II.
I didn't think the fine cut toothed motors were used in a Victor II ???
Anyways, that is what was in there.

I took it apart because it was chugging and sticking _ the guy who rebuilt it used some sort of grey lithium grease that dried out already.
He tried to pour a whole pile of oil in the spring barrel that did nothing.

Upon cleaning it, I found these other problems.

I'd recommend you to look at Harold Braker's article on Victor motors. You might discover there is some washer missing somewhere, and that's the Trick to make the arbour and gears match tightly. Some motors have them...
I think it has been posted herein at some time. You might do a search... Meanwhile, if I can find my copy, I will send it here...
Edit: found in https://www.antiquephono.org/victorvict ... ld-braker/

George Vollema, of Great Lakes Antique Phonograph, has also in his website a complete original catalog of Victor motors in pdf, with all the parts, so there you can check if there is something missing.

Yes, I have been talking to George.
For sure there are some spacers that are missing, there was a lock washer stuck in there, I can make any washer I need, I'll put it together and see what's missing.

The end cover bushing is also worn enough that the spring barrel is not square, and when it's wound up, the whole thing binds and stops.
I was at it for the better part of the day just turning the axle down and making a new bushing to match.

Someone used a lock washer as a spacer on the "mount" end and the sharp ends of the lock washer chewed things up.

I'm going to be busy for a little while. :)

George did have a replacement cover.
