Does anyone have a model 1904 Edison Concert housed in a Triumph model B style case. If so could you supply a few photographs of the upper works. The only photograph I could find is in Frow's book "The Edison Cylinder Phonographs 1877-1929. The photograph on page 66 looks like a model 1899 just set into a Triumph case. Thanks. Bill

The only ways to be sure it's a legitimate late Concert is the presence of screw holes in the corners of the bedplate, a single reproducer set screw in the carriage rather than the early-style reproducer clamps, a later-style data plate, and of course an appropriate serial number. If you're considering one, you're welcome to send me its serial number and I'll be happy to check it against original Edison sales data for its date.

This machine has a serial number over 8900 and is in the correct case with lid. It has four holes in the bedplate to attach it to the motor board. The carriage is of the 1899 type with the clamps. So should I assume this is not original to this machine?

Here's where the sales data can really come in handy. A Concert in the 8900 range left the factory in June 1902. The Concerts weren't housed in the Triumph B - type cabinets until 1906.
