After trial and error i finally found the best replacememt for Victrola Feltoid casters that are rusty and no longer round. I drill with ⅜ to open hole to correct size, roll the barrel in 2 part epoxy and screw in till flush. I temp add the brass ring for support. The new casters have two sets of bearings and hold 65lbs each. They can also be leveled. I use a workimg set until finished with restore and add polished brass rings and new set at final assembly.

Great idea. Can you post a picture of the manufacturer of these castors. I can't find anything like that around here. Is there a reason you only use the brass ring temporarily when you insert the fitting? I would think they should be on there permanently. Is there a way to age the castor a bit?

The inserts are $11.50/25 here:

The casters $33.99/24 here:

I put the ring on to reinforce the leg while installing the insert. A temp set of casters are installed while i refinish the unit because the finish (dye and clear) gets on them. The rings are polished on a polishing wheel and installed at final assembly with a fresh set of casters. For a nickel plated Victrola, these are perfect asis. For gold plated like this XVII, i will scuff sand the metal and apply a brass like epoxy paint i have used before on the previous caster type i was using that looks great and holds up well. I dont go for the antiqued look on my restores, i figure time will do that for me but in a nice way this time around.

Here are casters for a XVII i am workimg on, these are excellemt casters, roll very well, can be leveled and have bearings in the wheel and in the turnimg plate. The tire is soft rubber for hard floors or low pile carpet. These are as close to the original Feltoid casters as i could find. Each wheel supports 65lbs so no problem even with the heavest Victrola or Edison. Wait, did i just say Edison? Never.
