How tiny the Vic R is? A guy I know got one, and they're smaller than a portable!

I guess I'm just used to my Vic III being fairly big.

Slightly smaller than an E.

I like the Victor R. The appearance and features make it very unique and interesting. Of course a Trademark machine is the perfect machine to display with a Nipper. But the R looks very nice with Nipper at a fraction of the cost.

Plus, I'm sure the Vic R is easier on records.

My favorite thing about the R is the oxidized copper and metal top.

Would love to have a rear-mount E or an early Vic 1 someday, just because.

I have had a front mount E for about 20 years now. It is one of my top favorite machines. Everything on it is original right down to the record hold down - it even came with a concert reproducer along with the little wooden box for it. Although I now own a Trademark, the E is going nowhere.

Why is a Vic R easier on records?

Isn't the long throat reproducer, especially the exhibition conversions, lighter than the Trademark reproducer?
