I just picked this brass horn up.

Length is 22" with a 12" bell. It is soldered lengthwise on two sides. The mouth is the correct diameter for a rubber horn connector. It looks like an cylinder horn to me, but can someone confirm and identify if so? Is it an amplifying horn or a recording horn if so?

It is an early brass phonograph (or Graphophone) horn. Someone has altered the small end by soldering a threaded piece to it. It's a very desirable horn -- nice find!

Thank you! That's what I thought it was. Definitely my best find of the year.
The tube that has been soldered to the end of the mouth is all one piece, including the threaded portion. So I am assuming that this is indeed a very old repair, and that the tubes were never threaded originally. There is some minor damage to the end of the tube, but I assume that is recent.
