I am working on a customers 1924 VV-80 Victrola and it doesnt have castors. Did Victrola not include castors? I have not removed the glides yet to see if there is a hole for a castor sleeve yet. Anyone have this model in their collection?

I have a VV-370 and those came out about the same time as your machine and it has glides under it instead of castors. It seems like the glides are mentioned in some of the literature that was out at the time. Maybe the dealers could choose one or the other. If the bottoms of the glides are polished, they slide around on carpet nicely.

I remember reading, years ago, that Victor dispensed with casters when they introduced the standard numeric range (in place of the Roman numerals) for their models, circa 1921. In any event, I've never seen a VV-80 with casters. The early model, with the smaller horn, illustrated on this page -- http://www.victor-victrola.com/80.htm -- doesn't have them.
