Can anyone here tell me if there is a definitive recording(s) of a soprano singing Strauss' "Voice of Spring" from the acoustic era?

"Definitive" is, shall we say, an uncertain concept, but a number of fine sopranos did record it during the period. I have these, which I would not pretend to be a comprehensive or even deliberately assembled list:

Selma Kurz, in Italian. Grammophon Concert 2-053206, 12".

Felice Lyne, in Italian. Columbia A5686, 12".

Maria Barrientos, in Italian, with orchestra cond. Giorgio Polacco. Columbia 49171, 12".

Mabel Garrison, in Italian, with orchestra cond. George Siemonn. Vic 74488, 12".

Alice Verlet, in Italian. Edison diamond disc 82083, 10" (explanatory talk overside).

vintagetenor,
With apologies - as I know your question is serious - but I just can't resist forwarding this for your consideration ;) :

To drh, thanks very much!

To Frisco, that is how most of us were introduced to this piece, I'm sure.

I have Evelyn Scotney's version on 12" Vocalion on my YouTube channel "These go to 80".

(Double-click the video above or click this link to go to the video on YouTube.)

Thanks, 52089. I just listened to Evelyn's version that you shared on Youtube. It's very nice.

My pleasure. I have a few other Scotney sides on my channel. I rarely find 12" Vocalions but when I do see them I always pick them up.

I've got only two 12" Vocalions. One is Selvin's Orchestra on Aeolian-Vocalion (35000) and the other is a German orchestra playing Strauss waltzes. (09050).
