I've maintained a white knuckle grip on this exceedingly uncommon Edison cylinder. With the recent discovery of Ernest Shackleton's ship, "Endurance", I thought someone out there might consider becoming the new owner and caretaker of this wonderful original cylinder. I have always held the highest admiration for this exemplary human being and his selfless care for the men under his command while enduring the most unimaginable conditions that any humans on the face of the earth could endure. If you've never seen any of the documentaries on Ernest Shackleton, please do yourself a favor and watch almost any one and walk away moved by the experience as I always have.

But I digress. This cylinder is in excellent visual and audible condition. Whenever I handle this cylinder I carefully gauge all of my moves for fear of having some crazy accident under my watch.

Better picture of the surface. Wax Amberol surfaces are difficult to picture clearly (for me anyway). There was dust and tiny dog hairs on the surface which were persistent due to static. Oh well. The surface is very nice.

Looks very nice! I do hope someone makes a repro of this, and hopefully all other wax amberols someday. I love the sound, but they wear down incredibly fast.

Gunnar, there is a copy of the same record in print with Vulcan Records, but it is rather predictably out of stock right this minute.

The repros are amazing & I enjoy buying them when I can afford them, but they are not original artifacts like this one. This is in exceptional shape & good luck on the sale!
