The word "crachoir" translates into English as "spitoon", but if you think that is gross, see what the doll is doing!

What make is that? The soundbox is not original evidently. And the doll is not included!

It is a Radior, probably French, and would originally have been fitted with a Pathé style reproducer.

Yes... That could be an original machine... I recall having seen others like this one there in the web...

Oh, it's definitely 100% original, alright, but the soundbox is a replacement.

Another machine borrowing liberally from the HMV 32 design. What with EMG shamefully copying it and now this! ;)

Other examples, just googling 'radior gramophone' or 'radior phonographe' as these machines are named in French:

I'm tempted. I do quite like them. I know that might sound potty to some! ;)

The difficulty, Steve, is to find a Radior soundbox. The machine evidently works with a Pathé, but finding the original soundbox is not easy. The horn on that one looks painted to me, which does not help in the originality area. But I agree, it is an interesting machine!
