i bought this one last year, it's always puzzled me. I have yet to take it apart, im scared to actually, im afraid what i might find inside!

Just as i suspected! I think i have about $20 in it so im not hurting to bad.. Good to have at $20 if even for just having it to study... Helps in future buys..

There's much to study in Crapophone design, in that exquisite example. Have fun. :D

I hope you'll spare that Banner disc the injustice of being played with that tonearm. That looks like one of those Crapophone soundboxes that have hardly any lateral compliance.

Now that's something i know nothing about!! Disks and Cylinders, i have all types of records (boxes) Some have sleeves and are in books, like hard back books. Some are really thick. I have a few boxes of Cylinders.. I'm glad i found this board, i am really wanting to learn more about the world of Phonos!!

When I first started collecting, I bought a crapophone. I'm thankful that I didn't pay that much for it. There wasn't a forum like there is now. I'm really greatful to this forum and the books on the subject. What torques me is when dealers advertise these crapophones as a legitimate antique. Knowledge is power.
