Yesterday two of my friends got married, what followed was an event at a quirky bar here in North Shields, the place is full of quirky nick-nacks and tat, I was looking in the window at the (awful) guitars in there and spotted this little guy hiding under a table, so (at the end of a full day of drinking) a friend (who happens to be pretty good at getting her way and knows one of the guys who runs the place) and I decided to do some bartering, amazingly we managed to buy him, and staggered home with nipper tucked under my arm.

I’ve done some strange things while drunk, buying a nipper from a pub at my friends’ wedding was a first, ha!

A full days drinking ?

Well, if you end up having a hang-over at least you can have 'the hair of the dog' !

There's nothing like a bit of Dutch courage to fine tune ones bartering skills.
I remember visiting a flea market very early one morning with a group of friends on our way home from clubbing til 5am.
After buying peacock feathers I stuck down the back of my pants to carry, I got a lot of bargains that day, I think because most sellers couldn't wait to get me away from their stalls.

Is your Nipper plastic, paper mache or plaster, and does he have any identifying makers marks?

I think he's plaster, certainly not plastic, he sounds vaguely hollow but I still think it's likely plaster, no identifying marks that I can see

From what you mentioned earlier then that is two of you that got plastered

I went to a wedding and left with a great son-in-law... And my Victor Humpback II was there to provide the music for the Daddy-Daughter dance.. That was 4 years ago and I'm happy to report that both the marriage and the Victor II are still running strong! ......even got a granddaughter out of the deal When she is a little older, I plan a photo shoot with Nipper and the Vic II
