RARE COMPLETE & ORIGINAL WIZARD PHONOGRAPH - OFF MARKET

I am offering this rare, 100% original Wizard phonograph. Made in New Jersey and utilizing a traveling mandrel. It was named "Wizard" as an oblique reference to Edison. It was only produced for about a year.

This comes from the famous "Dr. Z" estate collection, which I mostly liquidated about 5 years ago, but I purchased this fine example for myself.

Plays 2-minute cylinders and is in excellent playing condition. It won't compete with your Bang & Olefsun stereo system, but then again which do you think will be worth more in a few years?

You'll never find a better example.

Any questions, etc. please email me (No PM's, please): [email protected]

thanks,
Raphael

That is certainly the nicest Wizard Phonograph I’ve ever seen. Don’t think this will last long.

What a fine machine. I never knew that anyone other than Edison had produced a phonograph with a traversing mandrel.

A fellow named Harry Scott also produced a phonograph in Los Angeles that had twelve cylinders arranged vertically in a rotary magazine and the cylinders ascended while playing against a stationary reproducer. None are known to exist.

Rafael's Wizard looks super nice. The Wizard came in two finishes. A "mahogany-look" finish that was supplied with a red horn, and an oak finish that was supplied with a black horn. Over the years, I've seen a couple of Wizards with incorrect horns. Rafael's looks all correct and very nice.
I had a mahogany finished Wizard with red horn that I sold about 10 years ago. I think Rafael's price is extremely reasonable. Not many complete Wizards are out there.

I agree with Brad. That's the nicest original Wizard I've ever seen. When Raphael says, "you'll never find a better example," he's right. You won't. I'm surprised nobody's picked it up yet.

I’m surprised this didn’t sell right away. In any event, the window is closing for free delivery to the Chicago show, as I am meeting with my friend tomorrow (Wednesday) and this would be the last opportunity for us to get together before then.
Thanks,
Raphael
