Blackman Reproducers

Since the recent post of the Mobley reproducers, I have been thinking about the other variant types such as Blackman, Fletcher and Horsley. For this post I will limit it to Blackman reproducers. While I have seen many Blackman reproducers over the years, I haven't seen many variants of them. I only know of 2 Blackman modified variants of Edison's Automatic reproducer. The common variant looks to be a domed top with Blackman's trademark information engraved. Otherwise, to me, it looks like a typical Edison Automatic reproducer on the exterior. The other variant is an Edison Automatic reproducer, but here the tail weight is gone and thin spring-loaded weight is added. This reproducer plays amazingly well. I'm also aware of modified Edison Automatic "Deep Cut" Blackman recorders.

I'd love to see what variants of Blackman reproducers and recorders you have to share.

Thank you.

Yes I had both types of the Blackman reproducers, spring loaded and no spring. I also had a Deep Cut recorder. I sold my entire collection of reproducers several years ago.

Thanks for sharing pictures of these. Is the weight bar spring loaded on the second one?
