Hermann Carl Albert Gutzmann, Sr. (29 January 1865 – 4 November 1922) was a German physician. He is considered the founder of phoniatrics as a medical discipline. ... He died of sepsis in November 1922 after suffering a stab wound from a gramophone needle.

I think we have all punctured ourselves wayyy too many times with our needles. Well, I guess I should speak for myself

I just never thought it would kill me.

That calls to mind an expression my folks used for talkative people when I was a kid: "Vaccinated with a phonograph needle"
