I am trying to get information on a Silvertone model 255, wind-up portable 78 player. I have searched the internet and can find no information such as the years it could have been made or who made it for Sears. Any information on this guy would be greatly appreciated, I will post several pictures of it, thank you in advance.

It appears to be a portable from the 1940s or early 1950s 78rpm portables lasted longer in the market until electrically amplified machines got portable (I think, can anyone correctly tell me when electric suitcase players were on the market?)

Definitely early 1950s. It was still for sale in the 1952 Sears Wish Book, which you can view on this site --

Two models were available --
