Ok I'm still very new to this hobby and find myself lost many times. My question is do you mount a Colombia No9 the same as a No2? Im looking for No.9 for my Columbia 117 and saw this picture when I looked it up on the internet. It says Columbia No9 but it looks like a Victor mount. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If your machine is a No.117 with a straight tonearm it needs a No.8 soundbox, but if it is a No.117a it needs a No.9.
The Columbia No.9 soundbox, which fits the Plano-Reflex tonearm, has the same bayonet fitting design as the Victor.
The soundboxes are not interchangeable because the Columbia tonearm is of smaller diameter than the Victor.
The soundbox which you have pictured has a non-original needle screw which may have damaged the internal thread of the needle chuck. It should look like this :

Ok thanks. Im going going to stick to the No.8 then. My Columbias all have a straight tonearm. I have several No.2 but only one No.8 so I'll try to find more. Thanks for your help.

This No.8 is currently for sale on UK eBay, but not knowing your location I cannot say whether the seller would post it .
