Coin Op HMV ??

This looks like the one that was sold recently for £450 at an auction in Cumbria consisting of an 1898/9 Gram Co. Trade Mark model, minus its bedplate and extension and travelling arms, mounted on top of a perfectly genuine base section of a 'square style' coin-op of slightly later date (G & T, rather than Gram. Co.) There was no coin mechanism at all.
I don't know that this machine was ever called 'Style No 9'; as it cost £7.0.0d and the rectangular model (originally Style No 8) cost £8.8.0d, it is unlikely, and, as stated in HMG, by late1902 the square model was Style 8 and the rectangular one was Style No 9.
Nomenclature apart, this machine is a marriage, useful for spare parts. I'd say £450 (plus buyer's premium) was quite enough!
