Very interesting.

I see (I think ?) that postage is offered at 33 dollars ?

If so, that is amazing. Over here in the UK ipostage for a floor standing model is almost unheard of.

As you say, so inexpensive.

Shipping costs that are so out of line with reality are the first sign of possible fraud. Beware.

A bit ugly and coffin-like is never going to have a strong enough appeal to catch a buyer outside the circle of serious collectors, who will probably already own a much better example.

The HMV equivalent probably wouldn't sell for more over here even though its a much rarer machine.

At least the elegant period style G&T/HMV equivalent has aged gracefully :

Agreed that the shipping cost looks "off." However, that is probably the seller's error or automatically generated by ebay. The should have selected "local pickup only" or "no shipping" etc., etc.

All that said, I am afraid to state that I truly think this is the current state of the "market." The last two Victrolas I purchased were $27.50 and $35.00. I have inquired about a few machines for sale at various online venues and some sellers have told me that I was the first serious inquiry they have corresponded with. I am not trying to "open a whole can of worms" with my commentary, just simply stating that prices for common machines are way down - especially in my part of the country.

Hey, may be a good time to buy for entry level collectors!

There has never been a better time to buy. A lot of the demand is dying off, unfortunately.
