Now that the dust has settled on the Stanton's Auction, I'd just like to say how pleased I was with my part in it. For the first time, I was a consignor. From the pick-up of my stuff, to the check in the mail yesterday, I must say that I am 100% pleased with the whole affair. While a lot of prices were depressed, I was still very satisfied with the end result.

May I ask, how well did the common/typical machines sell? Was there any interest? Or, were the earlier [slightly "rarer" and "sought after"] machines the only phonographs that sold for a decent price point?

I am still kind of scratching my head on what to do with a few of these floor model Victrolas and Grafonolas in my collection if my wife and I downsize in the next couple of years....

I don't want to open a can of worms, just curious if any common machines ever come through Stanton's and if anyone has any feedback...

I followed the auction because I was bidding on one item and curious about many. The prices were all over the map. The item that I was bidding on had an estimate of $100 to $300, but sole for $950 plus buyer’s premium, (It was an early Victor D. Basically just a motor and rough, incomplete case. I suspect that it was bought for the motor). Some other items went for much less than estimate, (and some for more). I would guess that it averaged out about as estimated, but with large fluctuations. Larger cabinet machines seemed to generally go for less than estimated.

Does anyone know who bought the circassian walnut Sonora?
