Auction protocol

I hope this is the right thread for posing this question. Does anyone know whether Nauck's auction house contacts bidders who didn't win any auctions? If they do contact such bidders, does anyone know how long it typically takes to receive such an email?

I'm not asking out of impatience. Nauck's auctions presents a massive list of wonderful records, and I'll grant them every minute it takes to sort through the results, even if it takes weeks. I just know that my spam filters are sometimes more aggressive than they should be, so it's helpful to know whether no news is simply bad news---or whether I should investigate further at some point. Thank you!

I would suggest contacting Nuack's and ask them - they have an email address on their website.

Thank you for the suggestion! I'm quite sure they have my email address, because they emailed me a confirmation of my bids when I first submitted them through their online form. I just wanted to know if they typically notify unsuccessful bidders of the results. I've dealt with auction houses before that don't contact unsuccessful bidders, but in those cases the auction results are posted online so that bidders can draw the appropriate conclusion on their own.

Again, I'm not impatient--just want to be sure I understand the protocol.

Thanks--that's certainly my next step. I figured I'd try here first, because I assumed a lot of Forum members have experience with the auction. Just trying to spare Nauck's the need to reply at what must be a very busy time.

They do contact non-winners. I received that sad news on the last auction.

Me, neither, but I can imagine sorting through 10,000+ bids can take a while, even with more automation. Middle of the month sounds reasonable.

For his April Auction (VRA 71), the "soft" deadline was April 24; the "hard" deadline was April 28; and I was notified of my winnings on May 1. The invoice arrived a few days later.

The records were shipped several weeks later (late May).
