That has been on Ebay for a year or more. A very interesting machine and not a bad price (even with the missing grille) but the cost of shipping would keep a lot of buyers away. Aside from the horn it's very ordinary, though the diaphragm on the reproducer is a bit peculiar.

As a vaguely related request, can anyone supply me with the name of the phonograph company in Buffalo, NY, that made phonographs with glass cabinets and, I think, glass turntables?

Yes, that was Kurtzmann- a very high end piano manufacturer in Buffalo. Here's their patent for the idea- http://www.freepatentsonline.com/1447215.pdf it was claimed that the glass improved the sound. I saw a brochure for the line (John M. on this board bought it) and some of the cabinets were a strange combination of period carved elements with large pieces of plate glass- more like display cases than phonographs. The very plain model pictured in one of the Fabrizio-Paul books was far ahead of its time and looks more like a modern piece.

Thank you fellas. I remembered that Kurtzmann phonographs were discussed in an earlier thread, but I couldn't remember the name, and they sort of intrigued me.
