Mailing 78 rpm

I have been collecting 78s since 1973 and have shipped hundreds or even thousands of them since 1999. I don't remember ever having a problem with breakage in transit. I pack them very well.
Years ago, I used the 10" record mailers from Bags Unlimited quite regularly. Since then, I have shipped 78s in several different types of boxes and sometimes even without a box, using an 8-ply cardboard "sandwich" (which also worked fine).
I am considering going back to the Bags Unlimited mailers, but before doing so I'd like to see if there are more cost effective ways to do this. Any and all suggestions are welcome.
