I saw that at Ruby Lane. Sometimes their items go for a lot of money. There is a so-so Vic III that is selling for $2500.00. I'm sure those machines will be on there for a long time.

There have been a few phono bargains on Ruby Lane over the years, but not very many.

I'm not sure what the last 8-7 went for, but as the seller notes, he's asking $2,500 for the machine once it's restored. Something like this, especially considering its relative rarity, I'd rather have as-found.

ANYONE have any idea of the horn size? I always thought it used the same metal horn installed in the 8-8 & 8-9, but according to the "Victor Data Book," it was fitted with a "medium" (I'd assume wooden?) re-entrant type horn.

I'm with you, OF, I'd love it "as is" and clean it up myself, I'm semi-tempted to ask what the "before" price is, this is one machine I'd love to have, but likely won't. I have a feeling it's going to end up over restored.

JohnM owned one of these at one point, perhaps he can tell us what the horn size is. A collector friend of mine has one of these and I haven't seen it in years (he keeps most of his machines in storage, so I likely won't get to see it anytime soon).

I wonder what the sellers "found" price might be? I'd much rather leave it in "as found" condition with only a`good cleaning. Somehow I doubt this seller would do a proper restoration.
