An antique dealer in Paris, Steve. No bargain there, he knew what he had for sale and it is in great shape. It was made by the Utzschneider Sarreguemines factory, one of the well-known French pottery makers.Steve wrote: Fri Dec 23, 2022 10:31 am What a great item. Many thanks for sharing. Where did you find that?
Thanks, I will look for it, I am sure the article will be enlightening!TinfoilPhono wrote: Fri Dec 23, 2022 11:20 am A wonderful antique plate. I used one of those as the cover image of the June 2013 issue of The Antique Phonograph, to accompany a detailed article about Edison at the 1889 Paris Exposition. True, no wonder the street names in several towns in Alsace are all bilingual French-German even today. But the factory kept producing and selling to French customers irrespective of which country it was, as well as expanding to other places in Germany and Luxembourg.Calle wrote: Fri Dec 23, 2022 2:15 pmAn antique dealer in Paris, Steve.
