I have this gold exhibition reproducer on my Vic 6. Is that bar that is circled something that came with them? Is it a victor part or a later add on?

That's an aftermarket accessory. Handy too...

I have seen that before. I think that it is an aftermarket device used to lift and lower the reproducer. Could you post a picture from the other side?

How is the 6 coming along?

Unfortunately I don’t have the part with me currently to get that picture. As soon as it’s back I will be sure to send one.

The 6 is coming along nicely. Got the speed control being fixed. I have all the gold pieces off being plated in the correct satin gold. The turn table is being nickel plated. The back bracket is being sanded painted and re pinstriped. I’m just about to order a mahogany spear tip horn. I’m thinking it will be complete within a month or 2. I will be sure to send updates as the parts come back.

That is a cool accessory for the reproducer. Where are you getting the gold plating done?

Nashville platting is doing the work for me.

It makes me think of the old “Stone Soup” story. That $125 machine turns into a $2000 project, but not to worry, that would still be a bargain that many of us would jump on without thinking twice. That’s going to be a special machine and it will mean more by not being turn-key.

This is a very rewarding hobby. I’ve met a lot of great people in the search of parts for this and past projects. I’ve learned more about the machine by restoring it. The other day the same store had a Vic v come in that I picked up as well. Couldn’t resist.
