Here is something I had never seen before. I've seen Victor store window dealers displays, but this was new to me after quite a few years of collecting. They are 10" and 12" made of steel. Painted label, not paper. I was lucky enough to buy both at the same time.

UK Columbia window display records were made of thin card with a plastic surface, not unlike a Durium record.
Unlike the American disc pictured above, the labels were identical to those used on the normal shellac records.
The groove damage on my example suggests that some fool once tried to play it.

Do these actually have grooves, or is it just a painted effect to make it appear to have run in and run off areas?

I was wondering if they could possibly be made from old stampers for discontinued records, although I can't see a matrix number which would suggest that they're not.

Of course if they were, the grooves wouldn't be grooves at all because the recording would be more like a raised spiral.

I bought these in one lot at an auction almost ten years ago. Actually, I bought three Imitation Columbia Records total, but sold one.
