The needle on the round dial speed control should not be gold plated correct? I’m having my Vic 6 re platted and it is currently plated gold to match. If not what is the correct plating on the needle?

The needle should be black. It doesn’t appear to be painted. I suspect that it’s gun blueing. It would probably be easier to find a decent original. They don’t tend to be expensive. Just be sure that the speed is marked 76, not 78.

The machine shown is an early 6 like yours. I don’t own a 6. The same speed control was used on the VTLA, the VV-XII and L-Door VV-XVI.

I’m sad I missed the eBay listing for a Victor 10 reproducer. It sold for $4k. Someday I will have to find one of those.
