Help!
We are moving far away and are renting a truck.
I know one removes the bed plate from an Edison Triumph and packages that separately...
But how should I handle my Grafonola??? I removed the music box combs, but I don't see right away how to [easily?!] remove the motor?
Thank you in advance for your expertise!!!
(Sorry—could not get photo to display upright here !?)

Quite frankly, I think you are asking for trouble removing the motor. The unit will travel quite nicely in an upright position without any disassembly. Just pack everything inside with soft towels and bubble wrap, and cushion the feet underneath.
If you insist on removing the motor, all of the top gear and cover boards must first be removed. Then there are several wood screws attaching the motor unit to the wood backing plate inside. You run the risk of doing more harm than good by disassembling this stuff and reassembly can be problematic.
I’ve shipped at least a dozen of these machines, safely and without disassembling anything. Just pack and pad, and strap it to the inside of the truck.

Thank you for your trusted (and highly acclaimed!) good advice!
(Heading to your part of the country... maybe I can finally see your show room!? In What part of Fla are you?)
Grateful for your response, sir!!!

I’m in the Ft. Lauderdale area, but do not have a “showroom” per se. All of my stuff is in my house.
